About
Medical Physicist & Radiation Safety Officer
Dr. Salmon is a Board-Certified Medical Physicist and Radiation Safety Officer with extensive clinical experience at Franciscan Health in Central Indiana. His practice encompasses the full spectrum of radiation therapy physics — from linac output calibration and commissioning to the complex dosimetric verification demands of modern IMRT and VMAT treatment delivery. He brings particular expertise with Elekta Versa HD and Varian TrueBeam linear accelerator platforms, including Winston-Lutz isocenter verification and stereotactic radiosurgery QA.
As an active Radiation Safety Officer, Dr. Salmon oversees radiation safety programs protecting approximately 700 healthcare employees. His regulatory work spans NRC compliance, Agreement State requirements, dosimetry program management, and license amendment support. He developed custom database systems specifically engineered for NRC compliance and personal dosimetry exposure tracking — tools that reflect both his physics training and his fluency in software development.
Veritas Medical Physics Consulting was founded on the conviction that independent physics consultation — free from vendor relationships and institutional constraints — delivers higher-quality outcomes for patients and facilities alike. Based in Greenwood, Indiana, Dr. Salmon serves Central Indiana facilities directly and is available for remote and nationwide engagements. His approach is simple: apply a physicist's rigor to every problem, communicate findings plainly, and let the data speak.
